**Please note that the pilot service is now full**
We've just launched a trial of a new, low-cost counselling service in our Glasgow city centre offices. The service is a small-scale pilot scheme with a limited number of places and will be open to adults with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
About the Pilot
This trial is a response to the limited availability of low-cost counselling for people presenting with a broad spectrum of mild to moderate mental health challenges. The pilot service will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, within normal working hours, from our premises in West Nile Street. The counsellors taking part in the trial are fully qualified and experienced practitioners, all working from a psychodynamic perspective.
The trial project offers up to 10 sessions of psychodynamic counselling and we anticipate that many people will present with symptoms of anxiety and depression, loss, bereavement, interpersonal difficulties and work-related stress.
The service is open to anyone, aged 18 and over, with the exception of people who are currently engaged with substance misuse services.
What about the Cost?
Clients using the service will be asked to make a donation to the cost of running the service. The suggested minimum will be £5 per session.
How do I Access the Service?
If you think you would benefit from a short counselling intervention, please call us on our freephone number: 0800 456 1511 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll put you in touch with our Pilot Co-ordinator, who'll make contact with you and if appropriate a first appointment will be arranged.
If the evaluation demonstrates sufficient demand and satisfactory outcomes, our intention is to seek funding to allow the service to be rolled out across Glasgow and offered long-term.
