HDS member Colin Kirkwood's new book From Boy to Man, a collection of poetry, was published in early December 2015 by Word Power Books.
Colin started writing poetry as a student at Glasgow University and his work was published or broadcast in, among others, Feedback, Scottish Poetry, Scottish International and BBC Radio Scotland.
Colin explains: "As the 60s drew to a close my understanding of society was deepening and widening. In parallel, I wanted to move from what I called individual creativity to social creativity. The poetry faded out, and prose writing faded in. I was very involved in the community newspaper and writers workshop movements for the next 15 years or so.
"My last poem was written in 1973 on the Cathkin Braes above Castlemilk where we were living then. I was always so busy that I never got around to publishing them as a collection, but now, at last, I have done that. I am delighted that my old friends from the 60s, Tom Leonard and Bob Tait, have written such appreciative endorsements, as has a young playwright, Zinnie Harris."
The collection costs £8.99 and is available from Word Power Books
