This month Human Development Scotland was delighted to welcome Kathy Duguid to the role of Chair of the Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy Training Committee. Kathy takes over from interim chair Mary MacCallum Sullivan.
Originally from Aberdeen, Kathy began her career in social work before completing the child psychotherapy training at the Tavistock in London.
She worked in the NHS for many years, contributing to CAMHS teams in Kent and the North of England. She held a joint appointment in Manchester with the Northern School of Child Psychotherapy as Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist and Head of Training and Workforce Development until retiring from the NHS in 2012.
Kathy was a visiting lecturer at the Tavistock where she contributed to a range of courses between 1991 and 2000. Since returning to Scotland, Kathy has contributed to HDS training programmes and contract work and she brings a wealth of experience to the role of training committee chair.
