Human Development Scotland is joining forces with Midlothian Sure Start in a one-day conference on the role of fathers in the family and in society.

 

Where's Dad takes place on Tuesday November 22, 2016 in Stirling as the Year of the Dad draws to a close and will focus on the impact of fathers' role on the wellbeing of their children.

Lindy Barbour was born in Orkney and brought up in North East Fife. She now lives in rural Lanarkshire and is a psychodynamic counsellor, teaching counselling and psychotherapy at the University of Edinburgh. 

Lindy began writing poetry in a series of workshops run by Liz Lochhead at the Glasgow School of Art.

HDS member Colin Kirkwood's new book From Boy to Man, a collection of poetry, was published in early December 2015 by Word Power Books. 

 

Colin started writing poetry as a student at Glasgow University and his work was published or broadcast in, among others, Feedback, Scottish Poetry, Scottish International and BBC Radio Scotland.
